Dr. Shayan Nabavi Nouri is an attending interventional cardiologist at Sorin Medical. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, and echocardiography.
Dr. Nabavi Nouri completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley with the highest distinction in general scholarship and departmental honors in molecular & cell biology. He graduated Cum Laude from The Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. During his studies, he was awarded both the Norval F. Zimmerman & Nathan Smith Davis medical scholarships. While at Northwestern University, Dr. Nabavi Nouri was also a frequent volunteer at the Community Health Clinic in Chicago, providing medical care to an underserved community of patients.
After graduation, he completed his medical training in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center where he was recognized as cardiology fellow of the year. With nearly ten years of clinical and research experience, Dr. Nabavi Nouri has more than two dozen peer-reviewed research publications and has had the opportunity to present his research nationally.
In 2021, Dr. Nabavi Nouri joined Sorin Medical where he served his first year in an intense procedure-oriented position, expanding and honing his skills in coronary, peripheral and structural heart disease intervention. He was recently appointed to the staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
