Dr. Joydeep Ghosh is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Sorin Medical who treats patients with heart rhythm disorders. He brings nearly 25 years of clinical experience to the Sorin team and is board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Ghosh leads the Stroke Prevention Team at Sorin Medical in patients with Atrial Fibrillation.He specializes in Left Atrial Appendage Closure – a procedure to reduce the risk of stroke – in order that patients can reduce or stop blood thinning medication that often cause significant bleeding complications. Further through the most advanced technology, he coordinates the Remote Rhythm Management Program for patients with Pacemakers, Defibrillators and Implanted Rhythm Monitors.
Dr. Ghosh began his medical career in Kolkata, India and graduated from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital with a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery. He practiced medicine in India until he moved to New York in 1995 where he completed his residency in internal medicine at the New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease. Dr. Ghosh also completed his training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Mount Sinai Hospital New York.
In 2003, he became Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Associate Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
Prior to joining Sorin Medical Dr. Ghosh was an Electrophysiologist for Columbia Doctors.
