Sorin Medical welcomes an exceptional Physician-Scientist, Dr. Ahmed Hassaan Qavi to our team. Dr. Qavi embodies our credo ‘Feel Better, Live Longer’ via his extensive accomplishments in clinical medicine and research.
Dr. Qavi is an Interventional Cardiologist who has demonstrated superior scholarly achievement throughout his career. His awards and recognitions began in medical school where in addition to graduating with Honors he was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award. He was selected as the Young Physician Leader Award by the 2019 American College of Physicians and has represented his peers of the American College of Cardiology on multiple occasions in Washington, D.C. advocating for patients and cardiologists. During his Cardiology Fellowship he was appointed Chief, Cardiology Fellow and Global Health and Underserved Populations Program Fellow.
Dr. Qavi completed a post-doctoral clinical and research fellowship in Preventive Cardiology at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital & the Boston VA Hospital. During his time at Harvard, Dr. Qavi focused on the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, while actively contributing to clinical trials in preventive cardiology. He was nominated and is a member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society. He has over 70 peer-reviewed publications and continues his clinical & research activities reducing the risk of heart attack & stroke as part of the award winning Sorin Heart Scan team.
Dr. Qavi completed his internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Montefiore Medical Center in New York and his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship training at East Carolina University in North Carolina.
