Dr. Philip Green is a highly accomplished interventional cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist who is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. After receiving his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Green completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Green also completed fellowships at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and peripheral vascular intervention.
Prior to joining Sorin Medical, Dr. Green was an attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He is a recognized expert in the treatment of complex venous disease and thrombosis and co-founded the interdisciplinary Pulmonary Embolism Revascularization Team while at Columbia University.
Dr. Green has an extensive background in important research and has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Green’s research has been recognized and funded by the National Institutes of Health sponsored career development award. He has also created the Frailty Score, which revolutionized and standardized the assessment of elderly patients undergoing percutaneous aortic valve replacement. His clinical research has focused on optimizing outcomes in high-risk populations with complex cardiovascular disease, while his training specialized in interventional cardiology, complex coronary disease, and outpatient and hospital-based cardiology.
In 2020, Dr. Green joined Sorin Medical and is also currently an Associate Clinical Professor at Icahn School of Medicine and Interventional Cardiologist at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital. He is committed to delivering high-quality, personalized patient care and has intentionally chosen to practice in medically underserved and primarily minority communities in New York.
